I have a secret (although it’s no secret to those around me) I am totally, 100% addicted to Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday.
Weeks ago, she had the MOST amazing woman on, Brené Brown. Authenticity is HUGE for me and this woman was spewing it. You could tell by the way she spoke, her mannerisms and laugh. She’s the real deal.
If you visit her website (and you should) you’ll find that Brené Brown, Ph.D., LMSW is a research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past decade studying vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame.
After watching her on Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday, I hopped on the computer and watched her 2010 TEDx Houston talk on the power of vulnerability (if you haven’t seen it – you should) is one of the most watched talks on TED.com, with over 9 million views. She gave the closing talk, Listening to Shame, at the 2012 TED Conference in Long Beach.
She is also the author of the New York Times Bestseller The Gifts of Imperfection (2010), and I Thought It Was Just Me (2007).
I’ve read Daring Greatly and I think you should too!
Brené is a nationally renowned speaker and has won numerous teaching awards, including the College’s Outstanding Faculty Award. Her groundbreaking work has been featured on PBS, NPR, CNN, The Katie Show, and (of course) Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday.
