For the past three weeks I’ve been on a search. A search for the perfect chandelier. This chandelier must be unique, as sophisticated as my clients (who both hail from Manhattan), but it must be rustic enough to be at home in the converted barn we are renovating. Even better if it was re-purposed, recycled or reused.
I searched online, in Manhattan and throughout the Hudson Valley, from Hudson to Beacon. We couldn’t settle on one that fit and since this was one of the last pieces for the barn, I didn’t want to settle. It had to be perfect.
And then I found it. A wine barrel chandelier. They’ve been around a while, but I fell instantly in love with this one.
From a shop called BoBo’s Intriguing Objects. The guys a bit of a character and has a reputation for being particular. He sells mostly antiques during trade shows and reproductions (like these lights) through the trade. So you either have to have a designer order it for you, or try to locate a piece through a retailer (brick and mortar store).
For the chandelier, the lines are gorgeous and the color, the color is GORGEOUS. I feel a bit gushy. The client LOVED it and it went in this week to much rejoicing. Can’t you just see it hanging over an old farm table?
